1) Who We Are
Lauds Tutors (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides academic tutoring and learning support services to students in the UK. By booking or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2) Definitions
* Services: Tutoring sessions, assessments, study materials, workshops, and related educational support.
* Session: A scheduled tutoring appointment (online or in-person).
* Tutor: A person engaged by Lauds Tutors to deliver Services.
* Client: The paying party (Student or Parent/Guardian).
* Platform: Online tools used to deliver sessions (Lesson space)
* Consumer: An individual acting for purposes wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession.
3) Scope of Services
We offer personalised tutoring in science, mathematics, analytical skills, exam preparation, and study strategy. Services may be delivered online or in-person subject to availability and safety.
4) Eligibility
* You must be 18+ to enter into this agreement.
* For minors, a Parent/Guardian must register, book, and accept these Terms.
5) Bookings, Contract Formation & Pre‑Contract Info
* You will receive clear information about fees, session length, content, tutor assignment (where available), and delivery method before you book.
* A booking is confirmed when we issue written confirmation (email/booking system) and payment terms are satisfied (see Section 6).
* We reserve the right to reassign tutors to meet learning needs, with reasonable notice.
6) Fees, Payments & Invoices
* Fees are disclosed at booking and include VAT where applicable.
* Payment is due in advance unless otherwise agreed in writing.
* Late/non-payment may result in suspension/cancellation of sessions and may attract reasonable late fees.
* Multi‑session packages must be used within the validity period stated at purchase.
7) Cancellations, Rescheduling & No‑Shows
(A) Client‑initiated scheduling changes
* Reschedule with ?24 hours’ notice: no fee.
* Cancel with ?24 hours’ notice: full refund or credit.
* <24 hours’ notice or no‑show: charged in full (non‑refundable).
(B) Tutor‑initiated changes
* If we cancel, we will offer an alternative slot or a full refund/credit.
(C) Statutory 14‑day cooling‑off (distance contracts)
* If you are a consumer and book online/by phone/email, you may cancel within 14 days of contract formation without giving any reason and receive a refund.
* Exception: If you ask us to start services during the 14‑day period, you acknowledge your right to cancel remains but we may deduct a proportionate amount for services provided. If services are fully performed within the cooling‑off period, the right to cancel no longer applies.
* To exercise the right to cancel, email [insert email] with your name, booking reference, and a clear statement of cancellation.
8) Academic Integrity & Session Conduct
* Tutors provide guidance, explanations, practice, and feedback. Tutors do not complete graded assignments, take exams, or misrepresent work as the student’s.
* Respectful conduct is required. We may terminate services for misconduct or breach of these Terms.
9) Learning Outcomes & Disclaimer
We strive to improve performance but do not guarantee specific grades, scores, awards, admissions, or outcomes. Progress depends on multiple factors including attendance, practice, and student engagement.
10) Materials, Intellectual Property & Recording
* Materials we provide (notes, slides, worksheets, recordings) are our intellectual property unless otherwise stated.
* We grant you a personal, non‑transferable, non‑commercial licence for study purposes only.
* You must not copy, share, sell, or publish materials without written consent.
* Session recordings: You may not record sessions without our prior written agreement. Where we provide recordings, they are for personal study and may be time‑limited.
11) Technology & Access (Online Sessions)
* You are responsible for suitable devices, stable internet, and required software.
* Technical issues on the Client side may count as attended time. Widespread platform outages will be rescheduled at no extra cost.
12) Safeguarding & DBS
* We are committed to safeguarding. Tutors working with children/young people may hold appropriate DBS checks where required.
* For home sessions, a Parent/Guardian must ensure a safe environment and may be asked to be present or available.
* We may report safeguarding concerns to appropriate authorities in line with UK law and best practice.
13) Data Protection & Privacy (UK GDPR)
* We process personal data to deliver Services, manage bookings, provide learning updates, and improve quality, in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
* Lawful bases may include contract, legitimate interests, consent (for certain communications), and legal obligation (e.g., safeguarding).
* We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes collected and as required by law.
* You have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and objection, subject to legal limits.
* See our Privacy Policy for details (data categories, sharing, international transfers, retention, cookies, and your rights).
14) Health & Safety (In‑Person)
* The Client must ensure a suitable and safe location.
* We may decline locations that are unsafe or unsuitable and may terminate the session.
15) Third‑Party Tools
* We may use third‑party platforms (video, scheduling, payments). Your use of such tools is subject to their terms and privacy policies.
* We are not responsible for outages or changes in third‑party services.
16) Fees, Refunds & Statutory Rights
* Refunds follow Section 7 and any applicable statutory rights.
* Package refunds, if granted, will be prorated for used sessions, with promotional discounts adjusted.
* Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
17) Limitations of Liability
* To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses (e.g., loss of data, opportunity, or reputation).
* Our total liability for claims arising from the Services is limited to the total fees paid for the session(s) giving rise to the claim.
* Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or other liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
18) Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays/failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., natural disasters, strikes, epidemics, power/internet outages).
19) Complaints & Quality Assurance
* Raise concerns promptly via [insert email/phone].
* We will investigate in good faith and aim to resolve quickly.
* Where appropriate, we may offer remedial sessions or partial refund/credit.
* If unresolved, you may seek independent advice or alternative dispute resolution.
20) Suspension & Termination
* We may suspend or terminate services for non‑payment, misconduct, or breach of these Terms.
* You may terminate at any time; unused sessions are handled per Section 7/16.
21) Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. The latest version will be posted on our website and applies from the stated effective date.
22) Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
